Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek took home the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture (Drama) for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury at the recently concluded Golden Globes. However, the actor trended on Twitter for two things that night. First, obviously, his spectacular performance in the film and second for having a super awkward moment with actress Nicole Kidman on stage. Days after the awkward encounter, Rami Malek told E! News that he actually loves it because it was a "totally human moment."
Speaking at the 2019 Critics' Choice awards, Rami Malek said, "I wouldn't take it back—or ask her to take it back ever." He also joked saying, "If it gets me to have a conversation privately with Nicole Kidman, I'll take that any day." Both the stars, Malek and Nicole Kidman, met each other at the Critics' Choice awards on Sunday and also shared a huge hug. They also bonded over the awkward moment that went viral. Rami revealed, "We had a personal chat about it, which was great."
At the Golden Globes, Nicole gave Malek the cold shoulder unintentionally as she did not notice him. He then placed a hand on her back, but the commotion as the cast of the film took the stage clearly distracted her. Rami Malek did not end up winning the Best Actor for essaying the role of Freddie Mercury at the Critics' Choice Awards. But the actor did have a positive outlook on losing out to stars like Christian Bale.
